Aircraft Structural Engineer (Stress Analysis)

SNI Technology / Paladin is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structural Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting aerospace and defense projects in Jacksonville, FL. This is a fully onsite role requiring strong experience in aircraft stress analysis, structural repairs, and finite element analysis within DoD or commercial aerospace environments.

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex aircraft engineering initiatives supporting military and commercial aviation programs while collaborating with highly skilled engineering teams.

Compensation
$65/hr. – $85/hr. (negotiable and based on background/experience)

Security Requirements
Active Secret Clearance preferred OR ability to obtain/renew a Secret Clearance required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Responsibilities
Review and perform aircraft structural analyses using hand calculations, OEM methodologies, DoD stress methods, and industry standards
Initiate complex aircraft repairs and prepare static strength and fatigue analyses for engineering repair dispositions involving nonconforming aircraft structures
Manage project components including task prioritization, scheduling, resource coordination, and assignment tracking
Utilize engineering judgment, creativity, and flexibility to support technical problem solving and project execution
Perform finite element modeling and analysis using tools such as Nastran/Patran and Femap
Develop engineering reports demonstrating compliance with applicable design requirements
Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and engineering staff
Support aircraft maintenance, repair, and sustainment engineering activities
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in aircraft airframe or structural stress analysis
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited U.S. college or university
Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred
Strong knowledge of:
Aircraft static strength analysis methods
Finite element analysis (FEA)
Strain-life fatigue analysis methods
Experience designing and substantiating aircraft structural repairs
Knowledge of aerospace maintenance and repair practices
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of aircraft stress analysis experience
Experience supporting NAVAIR or U.S. Air Force engineering programs
Product development experience as a stress engineer
Experience with aerospace engineering documentation and reporting procedures
