Job Description
The Electrical Systems Engineer will support the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of electronic and electrical systems for aerospace and defense applications. This role involves translating requirements into system architecture and hardware/software designs while supporting system integration, validation, and lifecycle activities.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply engineering principles, standards, practices, and concepts
- Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements based on customer and contract requirements
- Develop statements of work and technical performance specifications
- Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware/software designs, and interface specifications with full lifecycle traceability
- Design hardware, software, and interface specifications
- Test and validate systems to ensure operational and functional compliance
- Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies
- Support troubleshooting activities for fielded hardware and software systems
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance requirements are met
- Investigate emerging technologies for future product applications and business needs
- Support engineering process development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work onsite in a collaborative engineering environment
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 5-9 years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a final U.S. Secret or Top-Secret Clearance prior to start
- Currently reside in or willing to relocate to the St. Louis, Missouri region at own expense
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience working within design/build or test teams
- Experience developing and maintaining engineering processes
- Experience with electronic/electrical systems design or testing based on requirements
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, data structures, and system design
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
