Job Description
Vistra seeks a Prevention Technical Assistance Specialist to work on our project with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO). This position is primarily remote with occasional on-site requirements at the Mark Center or Pentagon. Candidates in the Metro DC area strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Apply expert understanding of prevention science and public health practice to provide proactive and responsive technical assistance to DoW personnel on prevention planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Design training and practical learning tools (e.g., workshops, capacity-building resources) delivered with expert facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Advise and train personnel on effective use of data, dashboards, and evaluation best practices to strengthen prevention efforts.
- Work independently with some guidance to ensure high fidelity of training and technical assistance activities with relevance to the military environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, prevention science, behavioral science, or related field and 3+ years directly related experience?
- 3+ years experience in public health program design, implementation, evaluation, or workforce capacity building?
- Experience designing and coordinating large-scale technical assistance or training in prevention, public health, or related fields?
- Experience engaging, facilitating, and moderating interactive sessions with diverse stakeholders (e.g., military leaders)?
- Experience using dashboards, metrics, or evaluation tools to support decision-making and capacity-building?
- Demonstrated comfort and polish in delivering trainings and/or presenting to large audiences?
- Ability to develop methodologically sound and visually appealing technical assistance and communications products for various audiences, in alignment with DoW style expectations?
- Active or recently held Public Trust required
Additional preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel?
- Experience with creating verbal and written communication products for clients, including presentations and information papers?
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodology?
- Knowledge of adult learning best practices
