Our facilities team supports the development of NALEJ in a fast-paced startup. Nalej is currently occupying 44,000 sq ft of multi-use space across two floors in the Ballston Arlington Area. As the company continues to grow, the facilities team will be required to be heavily involved in the expansion of the company from working with directors and C-Suite level Nalej employees to working with county / city officials as well as 3rd party vendors/contractors.
We are support! We support the engineers who develop the products and acquire customers. Morale is very important and we want to ensure that we are doing everything we can to maintain positive morale in the company. Without the engineer there is nothing for us to support, and without our support the engineer cannot accomplish their tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Record Keeping: Develop and/or source an appropriate inventory control system for company and government owned equipment
• Purchasing: Communicate with and understand the needs of the engineers and procure needed equipment to support engineering
• Receiving: Receive purchased equipment ensuring that proper record keeping is maintained
• Shipping: Ship as required to various remote employee and customer locations.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, engineers, DevOps, and stakeholders to ensure facility requirements are met in a timely fashion.
• 3rd Party Partner Engagement: Nalej has 3rd Party Partners in the building with us. This position requires constant communication with 3rd parties to understand their needs and timelines.
• Facility Maintenance: Oversee annual maintenance to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical needs. Ensure filters are changed on a regular cadence. Assemble office furniture as building continues to grow.
• IT: As Facilities Tech you will be required not only to build offices but also to put together workstations and peripherals, such as monitors, keyboards, mice etc. and ensure proper cable management.
• Planning: Ensure that you are always planning not only the 30/60/90 but also for future years. As this is a quickly growing company it is required that you look out at the horizon for future needs.
• General Office Management: The Facilities team is responsible for all general office management. Working with Building Engineers and Custodial Staff is integral. The team also schedules morale building activities such as weekly lunches and ensuring the kitchen is clean and stocked with nutritious snacks and drinks.
• Budgeting – Must maintain budget for office furniture, snacks, lunches, IT equipment etc.
• Any other assigned Duties: This position will also be required to perform any other duties assigned by CEO, any other C-positions or Directors.
Required Skills
• Common Sense — Employee must execute common sense on a regular basis
• Self-Starter — must be able to work on your own with little to no supervision from times
• FAR 52.254-1 — Must be familiar with the FAR, especially FAR 52.245-1
• Communicative — Must be able to communicate with higher ups, engineering, C-level, city/county officials via person to person, MS Teams, Email, Telephone.
• Vendor Management — Required to manage numerous vendors at one time, scheduling, booking, licensing, billing etc.
• MS Suite – Must be proficient with MS EXCEL, MS PROJECTS
• Charting – Must be able to create PIVOT Tables, GANTT Charts, Pie Graphs Etc. and present them to Directors and C level as required.
Example Projects You Will Be Involved In
• Managing ICD 705 Upgrades to current SCIF’s
• Designing Office Space, Purchasing and Assembling Furniture.
• Maintaining accurate records that will be accountable to DCMA
Preferred Qualifications
• Military Veteran Preferred and Prioritized
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
• Experience working in US regulated environments (e.g., Defense, healthcare, Secure control systems).
• NPMA certification, IFMA Certification
