Job Description

Duties

  • You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and AN/SLQ-32(V)7 electronic warfare systems.
  • You will plan, schedule, and execute on-time Production Integration Test (PIT) of these systems in accordance with system fielding plans, ship in-yard-need-dates (IYNDs), and asset availability.
  • You will coordinate with Production Controllers to ensure workload is scheduled and assigned to technicians appropriately.
  • You will work closely with the PIT Business Operations Manager to coordinate materials and scheduling of future PIT evolutions.
  • You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to all safety and procedural processes established for each work area or lab under your purview.
  • You will provide mentoring and training to junior- and journey-level technician engineers on system operations, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • You will coordinate with the Product Support and Engineering teams to oversee the implementation of engineering change proposals (ECPs) to improve and update the systems, as required.
  • You will provide distance support to resolve system issues and may be called upon to travel shipboard or to manufacturer sites to provide in-depth troubleshooting of the systems.
  • You will provide senior level technical guidance to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division senior leadership/management, Navy Program Executive Office personnel, logistics officers, and other Department of Navy officials, as requested.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Testing and evaluating critical electromagnetic warfare systems against documented system requirements, developing and maintaining work processes in accordance with command safety and security policies, and training the technical workforce on system operation and troubleshooting practices.

Additional information

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, step 10 (currently $138,370).

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
