As a Launch Vehicles Electrical I&T Engineer - Level 3 located in Huntsville, AL, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
The Launch Vehicles Electrical I&T Engineer will support all phases of electrical I&T engineering objectives from inception through completion. This role is responsible for executing electrical testing at the system level for flight hardware.

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

The Launch Vehicles Electrical I&T Engineer will support all phases of electrical I&T engineering objectives from inception through completion. This role is responsible for executing electrical testing at the system level for flight hardware.
This position may be filled at a higher level with additional years of experience.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Authoring electrical work packages and executing procedures as the test conductor
- Test conducting vehicle level tests and leading a team of support engineers/technicians
- Complete data reviews posts test execution
- Development and execution of troubleshooting plans for nonconformances, including discussions with program management and the chief engineer
- Support plans and schedules for Launch Vehicles activities in Huntsville, AL to support the requirements, milestones, and organizational infrastructure to sustain and deliver on the contractual obligations
- Support the development of quality processes and procedures
- Maintain close coordination with the engineering manager on electrical engineering activities and milestones
- Participates in daily escalation and tiered meeting structures
- Support transition to digital work instructions (MES)
- Other duties as assigned
Position Expectations:
- Candidate shall possess a general electrical engineering, RF, and digital and analog electronic system background and have an understanding of system-level testing concepts as they apply to the electrical integration of complex systems.
- Daily responsibilities require interfacing with space launch vehicle hardware.
- Supports production floor operations, leading tasks of various complexity and scope relating to system level testing of launch vehicle subsystems.
- Facilitates the creation of planning and test plans to complete analysis and tests on circuits, components, and functional systems of company products.
- Responsible for properly implementing requirements in the component sub-systems and electrical system areas.
- Interprets assembly and schematic drawings, and company and industry standards so as to design, author, and conduct system and integrated vehicle tests.
- Analyzes test results to identify discrepancies or recommend launch readiness.
- Reports status and action plans in view of maintaining program schedule.
- Facilitates the execution of troubleshooting anomalies, develops solutions, recommends and implements corrective and preventative actions.
- Responsible to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and participate in implementation; support launch operations, as required.
- Ability to write in clear technical terms, and good interpersonal skills required as well as the ability to communicate with engineers from various backgrounds.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
- Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- Knowledge of standard PC application software is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hardware or software testing and test scripting
- Experience with test bed operations and processes involving mixed configurations of test equipment, Engineering Models/units, and flight units
- Experience with proliferated systems testing or production line testing/planning
- Directly related experience in Integration and test
- Experience in Electronics troubleshooting or anomaly investigation
- Experience in Environmental testing (Thermal Cycle/Thermal Vacuum chamber testing, EMI testing)
- Programming or debugging experience with any of the following languages: STOL, JAS, Python
- Experience with any of the following tools: CAPE, Manufacturo, Odoo, InControl, Jira/Confluence, Git/Bitbucket
- Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)
- Ability to support 2nd/3rd shifts or weekend shifts
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
