The Launch and Missile Defense Systems division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a systems engineer to join the Broadsword team. The Broadsword program leverages OPIR data in supporting the software development and analysis of specialized combat systems that are providing advanced algorithms to improve tracking, prediction, and discrimination capabilities for emerging threats worldwide.

Position Overview:
As a Systems Engineer on the Broadsword Team, you will be responsible for the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. This fast-paced and cutting-edge research and development environment will rely on your familiarity with modern software practices. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly, and present technical approaches and findings. Our team of motivated technical talent works closely with the end user (and each other) to ensure the direct mission applicability of developed products.

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Systems Engineer Level 3: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience.
- Systems Engineer Level 4: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related work experience.
- Experience applying Model Based Systems Engineering to develop and model requirements
- Experience managing requirements or systems engineering artifacts using tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or JIRA.
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical content to audiences of varying backgrounds.
- Applicants must be able to work on-site in an office environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience incorporating stakeholder feedback from multiple organizations (e.g. teams, IPTs, sectors) into actionable solutions.
- Experience taking systems engineering requirements or artifacts through the systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience with requirement verification methods
