Position Overview

KBR is looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer who shall learn to apply the principles, theories, and methods of computer science and information technology. An interest in Data Science/Analytics is a plus.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience developing applications while also learning how data can drive business decisions. You'll work with analysts and stakeholders to build software features, support reporting needs, and help improve internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Support bug fixes, troubleshooting, and application improvements
• Help gather and organize data from multiple systems
• Assist with reports, dashboards, and basic analytics projects
• Collaborate with team members on technical and business requirements
• Participate in code reviews and team meetings
• Learn and apply modern development and analytics best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field and 2 years experience
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph
• Eagerness to learn and grow
• Positive attitude and willingness to ask questions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Interest in both software development and data-driven decision making

• Basic understanding of programming languages such as: Python, JavaScript, Java or C#
• Basic familiarity with databases and SQL
• Basic understanding of APIs and web applications
• Basic exposure to data visualization or analytics tools is a plus: Power BI, Tableau, Excel
• Familiarity with Git/version control
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Internship, academic, or personal project experience
• Basic cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum environments

Work Environment:

• Location: On-Site Chantilly VA
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Standard
