Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a mission-focused enterprise environment, responsible for administering, optimizing, and maintaining Exchange and Windows infrastructure in both on-premises and Microsoft 365 hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability messaging systems, support complex migrations, and resolve performance and operational issues across enterprise-scale systems.
What will you do?
• Administer and support Microsoft Exchange environments in both on-premises and Microsoft 365 (M365) hybrid architectures
• Support migration of Exchange Server environments to Exchange Online (M365)
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Active Directory architecture, disaster recovery, and performance issues
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Database Availability Groups (DAGs) to ensure system availability and resiliency
• Diagnose and resolve Exchange and Windows Server performance issues in enterprise environments
• Communicate technical issues, expectations, and resolution plans to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner
• Develop and execute action plans to resolve complex messaging and infrastructure issues
• Maintain system documentation and support operational best practices for enterprise messaging services
Do you have what it takes?
• Must have a Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
• Minimum of 11 years of experience in MS Exchange engineering and Windows infrastructure
• Strong experience with Active Directory architecture, design, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting
• Experience managing Exchange Server and Microsoft 365 hybrid environments
• Proven experience with Database Availability Groups (DAGs)
• Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis skills for Exchange and Windows Server environments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and technical issue management skills, including stakeholder communication and execution of remediation plans
• Experience with SecDevOps principles and iterative development environments
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
• Experience with Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) and System Security Plan (SSP) documentation processes
• Experience providing Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps toolsets (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Python, or Perl
• Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell scripting
• Microsoft certifications in administration, engineering, or Azure technologies preferred
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with SecDevOps practices and iterative development environments
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools
• Experience with Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) and System Security Plan (SSP) documentation processes
• Experience providing Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support in enterprise environments
• Experience working in Agile development methodologies and sprint-based delivery teams
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Python, or Perl
