Support mission-critical space operations-designing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure that enables secure communication between satellites and ground systems supporting Space Systems Command missions.

Senior Level | Active Top Secret Clearance Required | $80,000 - $110,000 | Onsite: Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM
Support mission-critical space operations-designing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure that enables secure communication between satellites and ground systems supporting Space Systems Command missions.
A Day in the Life - What you'll do
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure supporting satellite and ground system communications.
- Analyze network characteristics including traffic patterns, transmission speeds, packet flow, throughput, and connectivity performance.
- Configure, deploy, upgrade, and administer multivendor network equipment in operational and lab environments.
- Install, modify, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and related network components.
- Support Cisco routing and switching environments, Palo Alto firewalls, and network authentication solutions.
- Administer and troubleshoot Identity Services Engine (ISE) environments and network access controls.
- Operate and support Linux and UNIX systems within enterprise and mission environments.
- Leverage enterprise monitoring and analysis tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues.
- Support private cloud and virtualized environments including VMware Cloud Foundation and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain network topology diagrams, architecture documentation, and IP address management records.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and implement security improvements.
- Provide occasional after-hours support for operational and mission-critical network issues.
- Work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mathematics with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- Active Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI access
- Current DoD 8570 baseline certification required
- Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in operational environments
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches
- Experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise security architectures
- Knowledge of VMware virtualized environments and private cloud technologies
- Experience operating Linux and UNIX systems
- Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, iPerf, or similar platforms
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Microsoft Visio
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively within team environments
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects and technical initiatives
- Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes, data management, and configuration control practices
- Experience developing and maintaining network architecture diagrams and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience
- Experience supporting government sponsors, mission stakeholders, and contract representatives
- Ability to provide executive-level summaries and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
- Experience supporting Space Systems Command or space mission environments
- Familiarity with cybersecurity remediation activities and secure network architectures
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical infrastructure environments
