Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support an organization dedicated to modernizing and scaling cloud-based systems in a dynamic enterprise setting. This position is hybrid at McLean, VA. The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in building resilient cloud infrastructure, streamlining CI/CD pipelines, and enabling development teams through automation and modernization efforts. This is an opportunity to influence how platforms are built, deployed, and maintained while helping teams move faster and more reliably.

Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer include:
  • Build, manage, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and AWS-based cloud environments
  • Create automation and scripting solutions using Python to enhance deployment speed and operational efficiency
  • Maintain and optimize infrastructure supporting Java and Python applications and related databases
  • Drive cloud modernization initiatives, including migrations from EC2 to container-based solutions such as AWS Fargate
  • Improve system reliability and availability by implementing scalable deployment strategies and resiliency practices

Required Qualifications for the DevOps Engineer include:
  • 3+ years of experience supporting DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or automation initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, Jenkins, CI/CD tooling, and Python scripting
  • Ability to work across a broad range of technologies in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Compensation for the DevOps Engineer include:
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
  • Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick leave as required by law
