SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the Senior Unexploded Ordnance Supervisor (SUXOS), perform all tasks associated with Remedial Action Removal at Joint Base Cape Cod in Barnstable, MA.


This hourly position pays $48.09 per hour base salary plus $5.09 per hour health and welfare (H&W) benefits and is eligible for hazard pay differential (4% and 8%) based on assigned tasks. Please note H&W benefits are paid for a maximum of 40 hours per week. A typical work week is expected to consist of four 10-hour workdays Monday through Thursday with the potential for 10 hours of overtime per week paid at a rate of 1.5 times base hourly pay. Travel expenses for mobilization/demobilization include mileage/airfare from your home of record to the project site and back to your home of record upon completion of the assignment. A budget of up to 8-hours each way has been allocated for travel time. Meal and lodging per diem rates are $223 per day ($200 on the first day of travel and $69 on the last day of travel).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Responsible for identifying all types of military munitions, UXO and Munitions Potentially Presenting and Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) and associated hazards.· Excavate subsurface UXO and MPPEH and move and/or consolidate materials that have been determined acceptable to move by the Senior UXO Supervisor and UXO Safety Officer.· Participate in UXO demolition and disposal operations.· Perform technical supervision as a Team Leader supervising UXO TI's and UXO TII's performing various task such as, but not limited to vegetation reduction, surface clearance operations and target reacquisition. Escort non-UXO qualified personnel to perform tasks within the UXO exclusion zone.· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must be a graduate of NAVSCOLEOD or a formal UXO training course of instruction.

  • Qualified as UXO TIII in accordance with the most recent version of DDESB TP-18.

  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of EOD/UXO experience with 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required: 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Current 8 Hour Annual HAZWOPER Refresher; OSHA 8 Hour Supervisor Certification; 30 Hour OSHA Construction Certification; Current Medical Clearance; Anti-Terrorism Level 1 Training; Operational Security Training and have the ability to pass a background check.

  • Must be able to perform all functions of UXO TI and UXO TII.

  • Must be capable of moving through rough terrain for extended periods of time.

  • Basic user level of Microsoft Office Software, databases and documentation control systems.
