Job Description
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Software / Principal Software Test Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Program.
What You'll Get To Do:
Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems division in Roy, UT is seeking an Engineer / Principal Engineer Software - Software Integration & Test. This position will be part of our Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Integration and Test (I&T) team to plan and execute vehicle level integration, test and checkout activities supporting the Sentinel, formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), program.
What you'll get to do:
• Define test requirements and test objectives, using Systems Engineering principles
• Assist the team in the development of integration and test documentation (test plans, test procedures and test reports)
• Participate in the execution of the integration, test, and assembly of the AVE in preparation for developmental flight testing
• Integrate hardware from sub-system teams, interface with other elements teams, and the system and segment level teams
• Work with management to establish test schedules and resource management framework for execution of tests
• Architect, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
• Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of integration and test activities
• Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component
• Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements
• Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications
• T2: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
• T3: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
• Working knowledge of system integration (HW and SW) and software fundamentals and principles
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Works well in a team environment
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years
• U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Knowledge of system integration and software test principles and processes
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to define software test objectives and requirements for software test activities in a hardware in the loop lab
• Experience with C/C++ application development
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems development and maintenance
• Demonstrated proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, and/or other tools for GN&C simulation and development
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge/experience with AF Test Directive 99-103
• Experience with ICBMs (MM, PK, Small Missile) or DOD programs
• Knowledge/Experience with IBM DOORS database
• Support the generation of test procedures and test readiness reviews (TRRs)
• Creation of test Concept of Operations (ConOps) flows that maximizes the utility of test resources while meeting schedule and technical requirements and/or constraints
• Strong understanding of entire product lifecycle, modeling and engineering best practices
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing, embedded control systems, and real-time software integration
• Experience in software version control system (i.e. Git) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
• Experience in troubleshooting anomalous hardware and software
• Generate and support test data decomposition and test reports to other IPTs
• Assist in consolidating and processing of final test data for requirements verification/model validation sign-off

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
