Power Platform Developer

Location: Remote

Job Type: W-2 (1099 option available)

Shift: First, Monday - Friday

Pay Range: exempt; up to $128,000 annually (1099 rate $70/hr)

Ryan Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a 6-month contract Power Platform Analyst to support IT Performance initiatives with a focus on IT Finance and Time Tracking automation. This role will provide hands-on delivery of Power Platform solutions that improve data accuracy, reduce manual effort, and enable reliable, executive-level reporting.

The contractor will work under the direction of IT Performance leadership and partner closely with IT, Finance, and delivery teams to implement defined automation and reporting needs using Power Automate and Power BI. This is a delivery-focused role intended to accelerate near-term outcomes while aligning with existing governance, security, and data standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain Power Automate workflows supporting IT and financial processes, including time tracking, demand and capacity reporting, and end-of-month cycles 
  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to support IT performance visibility and leadership decision-making
  • Integrate and manage data from multiple sources (e.g., ServiceNow, SharePoint, Dataverse, Excel, SQL) to support consistent, trusted reporting
  • Implement defined metrics, KPIs, and data models in partnership with IT Performance and Finance stakeholders 
  • Translate documented business and reporting requirements into scalable Power Platform solutions
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manual data manipulation and improve data quality 
  • Ensure all delivered solutions align with security, data governance, and Power Platform standards 
  • Create technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials for delivered solutions 
  • Provide regular status updates, identify risks, and communicate dependencies to IT Performance leadership 

Key Deliverables (Initial Focus Areas): The contractor will be expected to deliver against the following near-term priorities:

Time Tracking & IT Finance Automation

- Automate data flows related to timecard entry, validation, and reporting to reduce manual effort and errors

- Support improvements to ServiceNow time tracking data integration used for demand, capacity, and financial reporting

- Streamline end-of-month reporting processes by automating data preparation and validation steps

IT Performance Reporting

- Enhance or create Power BI dashboards supporting IT performance metrics, trends, and leadership reporting

- Improve data consistency and traceability across source systems used for IT performance and financial analysis

Data Flow & Documentation

- Document data sources, data ownership, transformations, and data flows across IT Finance and Time Tracking processes

- Support clarity around where data originates, how it is transformed, and how it is consumed for reporting

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent relevant experience 
  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, automation, or IT performance reporting 
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and visualization best practices 
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Automate, including complex workflows and system integrations 
  • Experience working with IT, finance, or operational data in a large enterprise environment 
  • Experience integrating data from platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, SQL, Datalake, or similar systems

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within established Power Platform governance or ALM frameworks
  • Familiarity with IT financial management, time tracking, or capacity management data
  • Experience supporting leadership or executive-level reporting    

Required Certification
  • Power Platform or Power BI certifications
