Job Description
COLSA is seeking a Strategic Cybersecurity Advisor/SME to provide senior level expertise and strategic guidance supporting cybersecurity posture, governance, and risk analysis for advanced technology modernization initiatives. This role works closely with government stakeholders to shape cyber strategy, assess enterprise and system-level risk, and advance resiliency and modernization priorities across complex mission environments. The position is primarily remote and includes CONUS travel to Huntsville, AL and other client locations as required.
• Provide an overall cybersecurity posture for each product and an overall system risk.
• Coordinate with the proper Security Agencies to ensure cyber threat intelligence is included in risk analysis.
• Analyze cyber requirements and provide input and recommendations to support the cyber strategy.
• Conduct cyber risk tolerance analysis and ensure standardization across areas.
• Ensure cyber resiliency, cyber survivability, and engineering requirements are met IAW the latest guidance and directives.
• Provide input on the creation and update for cybersecurity policies, memos, and operating procedures for the maturation of the cyber program.
• Recommend resources and processes required to meet cybersecurity goals and objectives.
• Provide implementation and monitoring of the cybersecurity strategy, assessments, planning, and execution.
• Provide SME guidance concerning all aspects of IT governance and cybersecurity.
• Perform capabilities analysis of threat environments to identify gaps, obsolescence, and opportunities for standardization.
• Standardize the integration of live data into virtual environments, ensuring consistent multi-domain training realism.
• Implement live-capability integration protocols across simulation environments to enhance multi-domain readiness.

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 20 years of senior-level experience supporting cybersecurity, systems engineering, program engineering, modernization, or related defense mission environments.
- Experience advising senior government, program, or mission leadership on cybersecurity posture, governance, risk, and modernization initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex cybersecurity, systems engineering, and mission impacts into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering, acquisition, modernization, or operational integration efforts.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts in concise, mission-focused terms to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Willingness and ability to travel in support of mission requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technical discipline.
- Experience supporting cyber policy development, enterprise governance, or program-level cybersecurity strategy initiatives.
- Familiarity with distributed sensor systems, modular/open architectures, threat-environment analysis, or advanced training and simulation technologies.
- Experience supporting Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) or multi-domain training environments.
- Experience contributing to defense innovation, modernization, research, or advanced technology initiatives within government or industry environments.
