Job Description
Responsibilities:
The System Engineer Level 4 (SE4) will serve as the Solution Train Engineer (STE) within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. The STE SE4 will serve as the servant leader and coach for the Solution Train supporting a High-Performance Computing (HPC) program. This role provides expert advisory and technical assistance services to government program leadership while facilitating the execution of large, complex solutions requiring multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), suppliers, and specialized high-performance computing systems. This position combines SAFe Solution Train leadership with advanced systems engineering expertise to support PAC’s mission of developing data processing systems, high performance computing systems, mission repositories, and analytic capabilities.
Required:
Active and current TS.SCI w FSP through MD
• Deep understanding of SAFe principles, practices, and competencies at the Solution Train level
• Expert knowledge of Agile Release Train operations and coordination
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and DevSecOps practices
• Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management and Value Stream concepts
• Proficiency with configuration management and version control systems
• Experience with collaboration tools supporting distributed teams (MS Teams, Confluence, SharePoint)
• Ability to create technical diagrams and visualizations
• Familiarity with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera)
• Exceptional facilitation skills for large, diverse audiences across multiple organizations
• Proven servant leadership mindset with demonstrated coaching ability
Education:
Education/Experience
A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
