Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever SFB CO is searching for a Management and Program Analyst to support 22 SOPS (NH-0343-02, GS-05/11 Equivalent).
Description:
In this Role - You are the person in the office who always knows what is happening, who needs what, and what is coming next. Your days are varied and meaningful; one morning you might be analyzing manpower data and drafting a resource briefing for senior leadership, and that afternoon you are coordinating with HR to move a personnel action forward or tracking down a missing piece of documentation for an upcoming awards submission. You keep the squadron's personnel programs running smoothly by managing the calendar of annual performance appraisals, tracking employee recognition packages and decorations, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. You translate complex organizational problems into clear recommendations and are comfortable presenting your analysis to leadership. You build the plans, schedules, and internal processes that help your team execute its mission, and you bring people together across organizational boundaries to get things done. If you are someone who finds satisfaction in being the connective tissue of an organization, keeping leaders informed, processes on track, and people supported, this role was built for you.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a motivated, organized, and analytically sharp professional with experience in business administration, management, organizational leadership, or a related field. The strongest candidates will bring several years of progressively responsible experience in program or project management, organizational planning, budget coordination, or human resources support, ideally within a large or complex organization. Familiarity with workforce management, personnel administration, or government HR processes is a plus but not required; what matters most is that you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly in both writing and conversation, and takes genuine ownership of your work. Experience preparing reports, briefings, or executive-level correspondence will set you apart, as will a track record of working across teams and building strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of DoD and Space Force organizations to provide HQ-level staff guidance on manpower and resource activities. Knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.
2. Practical knowledge of civilian and military personnel management concepts, principles, and procedures. Knowledge of military service program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
5. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision making.
6. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
7. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
