What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Software Engineer / Computer Scientist to support the research, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced training technologies and software solutions for Department of Defense training and operational environments. The selected candidate will support software development efforts involving adaptive training systems, virtual simulation environments, instructor support systems, and distributed tactical systems integration within Security Enhanced Linux-based environments.

What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Software Engineer / Computer Scientist to support the research, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced training technologies and software solutions for Department of Defense training and operational environments. The selected candidate will support software development efforts involving adaptive training systems, virtual simulation environments, instructor support systems, and distributed tactical systems integration within Security Enhanced Linux-based environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support software engineering efforts including design, development, testing, integration, documentation, and sustainment of software applications and systems.
- Develop innovative software solutions supporting research, prototype development, and operational capabilities.
- Support software development for adaptive training technologies, immersive environments, virtual simulators, scenario planning systems, and weapon systems integration.
- Develop and maintain secure software architectures within Security Enhanced Linux environments.
- Support interface software development and integration between distributed systems, simulation environments, tactical systems, and external platforms.
- Apply expertise in distributed computing, virtualization technologies, operating systems, and continuous software integration.
- Support software lifecycle activities including debugging, testing, configuration management, and system hardening.
- Lead and coordinate software development teams and technical tasking.

Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Extensive experience in software engineering and technical leadership roles.
- Strong development experience with C++, C#, Java, Perl, Python, HTML, XML, and SQL.
- Extensive experience working within Linux and Security Enhanced Linux environments.
- Experience supporting distributed systems, virtualization technologies, and integrated system communications.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, integration, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of advanced software architectures and distributed computing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or defense-related software development.
- Experience with modeling and simulation systems, virtual training environments, or tactical systems.
- Experience supporting research and development (R&D) and prototype efforts.
- Familiarity with configuration management and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience working in classified or mission-critical environments.
