Support mission-critical Joint Command and Control systems-leading test strategy, automation, verification, and quality assurance efforts for modernization of the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), the DoD's enterprise command and control system of record.

Mid - Senior Level | Active Secret Clearance Required | $90,000 - $120,000 | Onsite: Newport News, VA
Support mission-critical Joint Command and Control systems-leading test strategy, automation, verification, and quality assurance efforts for modernization of the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), the DoD's enterprise command and control system of record.
A Day in the Life - What you'll do
- Lead development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, plans, procedures, and quality assurance activities.
- Define approaches for functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and end-to-end testing.
- Execute manual and automated test cases supporting mission-critical software applications.
- Validate microservices, APIs, data pipelines, user interfaces, and distributed system architectures.
- Document defects, coordinate remediation efforts, and verify corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and scalability.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows.
- Participate in Sprint Reviews, Process Reviews, Design Reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
- Validate acceptance criteria and ensure compliance with Definition of Done standards.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, government stakeholders, and end users.
- Support test readiness reviews and formal developmental and operational test events.
- Provide technical leadership on test-related issues and quality initiatives.
- Ensure applications meet operational, cybersecurity, performance, and data integrity requirements.
- Validate user workflows and usability to ensure mission effectiveness and operational readiness.
- Provide input on schedules, milestones, and test execution timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline
- Mid Level: 3-5 years of experience Sr Level: 7+ years of experience supporting software or system testing environments
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum development environments
- Experience supporting GCCS-J or Joint Command and Control (C2) systems
- Experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages
- Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and enterprise data pipelines
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems and containerized deployment environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills
- Experience developing test strategies and supporting software verification and validation activities
- Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary technical teams
- Knowledge of intelligence data flows and geospatial data formats
- Experience serving as an operator or systems administrator supporting GCCS-J or Joint C2 environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps methodologies
- Familiarity with DISA processes and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
- Experience supporting Developmental Test (DT) and Operational Test (OT) activities
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and container orchestration platforms
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity testing and secure software validation principles
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Mission-focused mindset with strong stakeholder management and proactive problem-solving abilities
