Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Sunnyvale, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Launcher Manufacturing engineering team

  • Collaborate with experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, welders, and engineers to develop new manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes to reduce cost and enhance sustainability, integrating best practices within the production environment.
  • Develop detailed process flows, work instructions, bills of materials, and tooling requirements with strong emphasis on safety and foreign object damage prevention.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and the integration of new capital equipment for expanded production capabilities.
  • Provide final acceptance testing and technical support as needed.
  • Flexibility to support multiple shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, weekends) based on production schedules


Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with up to 2 years of relevant experience..
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Exposure to mechanical assembly, welding, and machining processes.
  • Experience or aptitude in continuous improvement and technical writing


Salary Range:

$69,400.00 to $104,000.00
