Northrop Grumman's Corporate Sector's Chief Information & Digital Office's (CIDO) Infrastructure organization is seeking a Consulting Infrastructure SDx (Software Defined Everything) Architect to lead enterprise-wide modernization of software-defined infrastructure and uplift the developer and application administrator experience across on-premise and hyperscale cloud environments. This senior technical leadership role establishes the architectural vision for software-defined modernization, drives automation and AI-enabled transformation, and ensures application teams effectively leverage enterprise infrastructure investments. The role is critical during a period of significant infrastructure reinvestment and modernization and is responsible for the long-range strategic planning for software-defined evolution of the organization.

Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $318,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and lead modernization of software-defined infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualization, and automation platforms.
- Advance automation, infrastructure as code, AI-driven operations, and predictive/self-healing capabilities leading the long-range strategic plan execution in these areas.
- Improve developer and application administrator experience through platform simplification, automation, and self-service models.
- Ensure application teams effectively use infrastructure capabilities and follow enterprise infrastructure policies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption where they provide measurable value in performance, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, cloud, and application engineering teams to deliver integrated platform services.
- Support modernization planning, lifecycle management, and technical-debt reduction efforts.
- Drive thought leadership as the senior technical advisor to executive management (directors/VP) for evolution to software-defined infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications:
- 16+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 14+ Years with Masters; 12+ Years with PhD.
- 10+ years in enterprise infrastructure, platform engineering, or application architecture.
- Demonstrated success leading modernization or transformation initiatives at scale.
- Expertise in automation frameworks, application architecture, hybrid cloud, and software-defined infrastructure.
- Experience with AI-enabled operations, infrastructure automation, or AIOps.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise server platforms, virtualization, storage, and backup technologies.
- Familiarity with modern and varied application hosting architectures.
- Background in mission-critical, high-availability, and high-security environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, AIOps, and modernization in regulated or defense environments.
- SAFe certification.
- Active or ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
