Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Data Engineer to support a growing data and analytics team for a leader in the finance industry. The Data Engineer role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with deep experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in cloud-based environments. This position is a fulltime W2 contract for 18 months with potential to extend.
Responsibilities of the Data Engineer:
• Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to support enterprise data initiatives.
• Develop and optimize data workflows using Python and AWS-native services.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality data delivery.
• Support data ingestion from multiple internal and external financial data sources.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across large-scale datasets.
• Implement best practices around data governance, security, and monitoring.
Qualifications of the Data Engineer:
• Must be eligible to hold a Secret Clearance.
• 8+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL development and data pipeline architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, or similar services).
• Experience working within the finance or financial services industry.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
Compensation for the Data Engineer includes:
• Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000
