Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing support developing Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) training needs; experience planning short and long-term projects to support/sustain the training mission; assisting with planning and evaluating various land sustainment programs such as use of ranges, terrain and facilities; AND Contribute coordinating mission requirements and land maintenance activities to improve training land management decisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Education

Help
- Provide management and technical expertise for the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program.
- Integrate the mission requirements derived from Range and Training Land Program (RTLP) with environmental requirements and practices.
- Establish procedures to achieve optimum, sustainable use of training lands by implementing a uniform land management program.
- Ensure training mission requirements are included in land management decision processes.
- Plan the annual and five-year programmatic budget.
- Report Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program activities.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance is required.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- TDY up to 10%
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 3 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Additional information
- Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 Years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
- If applicable, returns rights may be negotiated upon selection. If return rights are approved, a return rights agreement/statement of understanding will be required to be completed prior to appointment.
