Job Description
The Avionics Mechanic will support the USAF Reserve Unit maintaining the MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopter platform at Maxwell AFB, AL. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining integrated avionics, weapons control, electro-mechanical, and fire control systems on assigned aircraft and support equipment.
Responsibilities include performing daily aircraft inspections, launching and recovering aircraft, servicing helicopter systems, conducting operational and functional testing, removing and installing avionics components, maintaining maintenance documentation, and supporting flightline operations. The role also includes configuration changes, explosive operations, and ensuring compliance with maintenance and safety procedures. Candidates must be available to support multiple shifts based on program needs.

Education and experience typically acquired through a High School diploma/GED and 4+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as vocational training, Associate degree plus related experience, or Bachelor's degree.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 4+ years of related aviation maintenance experience
- Military helicopter maintenance or avionics experience
- Experience performing aircraft inspections, launch/recovery, and servicing operations
- Knowledge of maintenance documentation, forms, and maintenance databases
- Experience using avionics maintenance tools and support equipment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends as needed
- U.S. Person status required for Export Compliance
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- U.S. Air Force aviation maintenance experience
- MH-139 or military helicopter maintenance experience
- Flightline operations experience
