A Day in the Life - What you'll do
- Perform on-call field engineering services including maintenance, repair, installation, testing, and retrofitting of mission-critical hardware and software systems
- Conduct dockside and at-sea troubleshooting of electronic, navigation, sonar, and communications equipment supporting maritime operations
- Deliver hands-on operator and maintainer training while updating technical documentation and maintenance procedures
- Maintain operational readiness through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and rapid-response repair support for failed in-port systems
- Collaborate with military personnel, engineers, and technical teams to ensure mission system performance and availability
- Active Secret clearance required
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or related STEM field
- Graduate of U.S. Navy electronics "C" school may substitute for degree requirement
- 3-7 years of hands-on technical experience supporting digital, communications, or maritime systems
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing:
- VME computers
- Digital computers
- Microprocessors
- Peripheral/interface equipment
- Communication systems
- Navigation systems
- Sonar systems
- Ability to perform technical troubleshooting in both dockside and at-sea operational environments
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to support on-call operational tasking and field maintenance requirements
- Experience supporting SURTASS subsystem maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with SURTASS arrays, communications subsystems, and integrated maritime mission systems
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy or DoD operational platforms
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and readiness management procedures
- Ability to work independently in high-tempo mission environments
