Sr Systems Administrator
Location: Reston, Virginia (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract to Perm
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a long-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing infrastructure changes and system upgrades. This role involves providing expert-level support and mentoring for other System Administrator personnel while ensuring the stability and integrity of enterprise-level virtual infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, and implement infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
Manage and troubleshoot multiple VMware environments.
Provide Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Create STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux operating systems.
Create, test, and deploy software packages using deployment products such as SCCM or PDQ.
Provide expert-level support and mentoring for Mid and Junior System Administrator personnel.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
Utilize scripting with PowerShell and/or Bash to automate common tasks.
Perform hardware maintenance and repair activities.
Provide advanced administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP.
Required Qualifications
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Security Clearance with a CI Polygraph
Education: A Bachelor's of Science degree is required.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant systems administration experience is required.
Technical Skills:
Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and/or Bash.
Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, or other enterprise-level virtual infrastructures.
Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
Must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by the date of security indoctrination.
Preferred Qualifications
Administration experience with Linux OS (CentOS, RHEL).
Satellite server administration experience.
Experience with Ansible playbook writing.
Knowledge of implementing STIGs.
Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
