Software Developer - UI/UX

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior UI/UX Software Developer to support a company focused on designing and delivering mission-critical systems for government customers. This position is HYBRID and can report to Annapolis Junction, MD, Reston, VA, or Washington, DC. The Senior UI/UX Software Developer will lead the design and development of modern, intuitive web applications by combining user-centered design, frontend engineering, and information architecture. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact how users interact with complex, high-stakes systems by transforming them into clean, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.

Responsibilities for the Senior UI/UX Software Developer include:

• Evaluating existing applications and identifying opportunities to improve usability and user experience
• Translating complex technical and mission requirements into wireframes, workflows, and intuitive UI designs
• Developing responsive, modern web interfaces using contemporary frontend frameworks
• Designing and organizing information architecture to make complex data easy to navigate and understand
• Building and maintaining reusable UI components and design systems while ensuring Section 508 accessibility compliance

Required Qualifications for the Senior UI/UX Software Developer include:

• 13+ years of professional experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Strong experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, as well as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proven expertise in UI/UX design principles, usability best practices, and Figma (components and prototyping)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Compensation for the Senior UI/UX Software Developer include:

• Salary Range: $170,000 - $195,000 depending on experience
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick leave as required by law
