Lockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting-edge defense technology, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that protect and serve our nation's defense.

This hybrid role blends technical expertise in software integration with technical program management responsibilities, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and alignment with customer and subcontractor expectations in a classified environment.

Technical Responsibilities
• Framework On boarding: Lead the integration of new applications onto the Framework, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.

• Software Installation & Configuration: Perform installation, configuration, and upgrade of Framework components; develop repeatable installation guides.
• Documentation: Author and maintain integration guides, test plans, deployment procedures, and risk mitigation documentation.
• Linux & IaC Operations: Utilize Linux command line, shell scripting, and system administration skills; provision and manage environments with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Technical Issue Resolution: Identify, log, and track defects; work with subcontractors to troubleshoot and resolve installation or integration problems.

Project Management Responsibilities
• Roadmap Coordination: Partner with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to refine the Framework roadmap, aligning deliverables with program milestones and budget constraints.
• Schedule & Milestone Tracking: Maintain detailed schedules (using Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar tools); report status, risks, and mitigations to senior leadership and customers.
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver technical briefings, metrics dashboards, and installation status reports to customers and program leadership.
• Customer Demonstrations & Events: Support planning, execution, and logistics for customer demos, integration events, and technical reviews (including travel as required).
• Process Improvement: Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends; propose and implement enhancements to integration processes, DevSecOps pipelines, and configuration management practices.
Basic Qualifications:
• Systems/Software Engineering & Integration: Experience in systems/software engineering, software installation, and integration in an Agile environment.

• SDLC: Strong understanding of Full lifecycle experience (design, development, testing, deployment) with Agile methodologies.

• Clearance Requirement: Active DOD Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• API & Automated Testing: Proven ability to develop and run API tests and automated integration tests.

• Linux Proficiency: Strong command line, shell scripting (bash/Python), and system administration capabilities.

• Cybersecurity & DevSecOps: Knowledge of security methodologies, secure coding, and DevSecOps pipeline integration.

• Container Orchestration: Hands on experience with Kubernetes (Docker excluded).

• Cloud & Web Integration: Understanding of cloud based platforms and web application integration patterns.
• IaC Experience: Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Project Management Tools: Experience with Jira and GitLab for issue tracking, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipeline management.

• Defect & Metrics Management: Experience logging, tracking, and presenting defect and installation metrics.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
