Description:This position will be assigned to the Fort Worth Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Team. This role directly supports Fabrication production builds and will require direct coordination with production management and personnel.
This position requires employee to perform duties as a senior level Manufacturing Engineer.
• Leading and initiating projects pertaining to SRR reduction, HPU reduction initiatives, tooling improvements, engineering drawing reviews and production support
• Work directly with shop floor personnel, as well as manufacturing and production management to actively troubleshoot and drive results
• Detail-oriented and highly organized candidate with demonstrated technical proficiency
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required as this position requires extensive interface with interdepartmental peers, customers, leadership, and touch labor across varied disciplines daily
This position will be responsible for:
• Documenting and tracking action items on behalf of leadership, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up/closure, to include elevation of constraints jeopardizing critical milestones, production requirements and performance goals
• Driving accountability and following-up to key stakeholders, primary POC's, and action item owners
• Providing production floor support and QAR support including, but not limited to, assessing and providing dispositions for tooling, root cause corrective action, and coordinating with engineering for process or repair clarification/strategy
• Collaboration with other build teams, including FTW/MAR Center Wing, Wing Structures, Wing Systems and EMAS as well as working cross-functionally across departments including Quality, Engineering, Production, etc.
• Ensuring proactive communication on our major issues across support teams and other build areas
• Candidate must be able to take complex issues and drive to resolution
Basic Qualifications:
• Manufacturing/Production Experience: Hands-on experience in production or manufacturing environments.
• Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
Desired Skills:
• BS/MS in Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and technical foundation with manufacturing processes.
• Aerospace Manufacturing Experience - Hands-on experience in high-precision, regulated manufacturing environments.
• Project Management & Facilitation - Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
• Value Stream Mapping & Process Optimization - Experienced in mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing efficiency improvements.
• Data Analysis & Visualization - Proficient in Excel, Tableau, and other analytics tools to support data-driven decision-making.
• Interpersonal & Communication Skills - Strong collaboration, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Knowledge of F-35 and F-16 production line practices and requirements
• Awareness of F-22 sustainment practices and requirements
• F-35 and F-16 Manufacturing Engineering experience
• Experience working in QADS, SFM, SAP, CAPP, PDM, EDMS, VAS and ICA
• Familiarity with entire suite of MS Office tools
• Understanding Lean and Six Sigma Techniques
