Scope of Work: The role will support the Cloud Engineering, Transition, and Modernization Support Services (CETM) effort for Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) in support of the Marine Corps Application and Hosting Services (MCAHS) Integrated Product Team (IPT). Marine Corps Business Operations Support System (MCBOSS) is a cloud-enabled environment that allows Marine and Navy users to access and build applications by implementing DevSecOps methodology to increase the security and speed at which software can be developed and delivered.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cluster management: Installing, configuring, and supporting Kubernetes clusters. Knowledge of container management and orchestration using tools such as Helm
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Using tools like Terraform to automate and manage the Kubernetes infrastructure.
Pipeline integration: Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that deploy applications into the MCBOSS Kubernetes environment using Jenkins and/or Concourse
Security: Implementing and monitoring Kubernetes security policies, such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Pod Security Standards. Familiarity with implementation and operation of container security scanning and testing software to include secrets detection, SAST, and/or DAST (e.g. SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP ZAP, etc.)
Monitoring and troubleshooting: Using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana to monitor the health of clusters and applications and to troubleshoot issues.
System architecture: Possessing expertise in Linux system administration and Kubernetes networking.
Understanding of requirements set forth in the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG)
Requirements/Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or mathematics
Required Security+ Certification
Required Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification
10-15 years experience of cloud platforms (AWS) and DevSecOps principles and practices
Preferred 10+ years experience specifically working with Kubernetes
Strong experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash to automate tasks
Preferred experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence and JIRA)
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
Strong problem-solving and design skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Ability to work in a self-guided manner and excellent organizational skills
Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) TOP SECRET Security Clearance
