Job Description

Duties

  • You will serve as a senior technical and operational authority at the forward edge of U.S. Navy combat systems development.
  • You will lead the end-to-end execution of high-visibility Test and Evaluation programs for Aegis and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS).
  • You will lead the full lifecycle of complex combat systems Testing and Evaluation events, from initial customer requirement analysis, planning, and funding coordination to live-fire execution and formal post-event reporting.
  • You will serve as the principal technical authority, translating fleet and programmatic requirements into executable test plans.
  • You will act as the primary government point of contact for all assigned events, expertly managing communications and expectations with senior leaders to ensure mission success.
  • You will provide operational control and safety oversight for live-fire exercises.
  • You will possess the capability to qualify as a Range Control Officer (RCO) and act as the responsible official for the safe expenditure of naval ordnance.
  • You will provide expert analysis and recommendations to shape SCSC's long-range strategic development roadmap, ensuring facility capabilities align with the evolving needs of the fleet and next-generation combat systems.
  • You will balance technical authority, customer engagement, fiscal oversight, and safety compliance while supporting SCSC's mission and long-term modernization objectives.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of combat test and evaluation events to analyze or recommend operational safety or oversight for the modernization of combat systems.

This position is covered under the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) personnel system. The NH-03 broadband is equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13 grade levels.
