Project Overview – AMCOM Logistics Center
The Lockwood Group supports the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Logistics Center by providing lifecycle logistics, sustainment, and training support for critical aviation and weapon systems programs. This effort supports the planning, coordination, development, and execution of New Equipment Training (NET) activities to ensure operational readiness and mission success across multiple Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) platforms.
The program supports the development, fielding, modernization, and sustainment of advanced UAS capabilities through coordination with Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAEs), Capability Developers (CAPDEV), Materiel Developers (MATDEV), Training Developers (TNGDEV), logistics personnel, and operational units throughout the lifecycle of the weapon system.
Expected travel 25-50% to field and train UAS platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Training Execution & Stakeholder Support
• Serves as a Platform Instructor and Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) during NET events to military and civilian personnel on new or modified systems.
• Delivers hands-on, classroom, and field training to the warfighter on assigned UAS platforms, adhering to all applicable training regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful training, fielding, and sustainment of UAS capabilities.
• Conducts periodic technical and instructional evaluations to provide recommendations aimed at improving training effectiveness and lifecycle sustainment support.
New Equipment Training (NET) Planning & Management
• Develop, coordinate, and manage New Equipment Training (NET) plans and activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned UAS weapon systems.
• Serve on working groups, committees, and integrated product teams to evaluate training programs and identify training deficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with Government stakeholders, logistics personnel, and training developers to ensure NET milestones and deliverables are executed on schedule.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, materiel fielding teams, and unit commanders to assess training needs and operational constraints.
Logistics & Lifecycle Support Coordination
• Provide logistics and managerial oversight for tasks associated with NET program execution.
• Analyze integrated logistics support data, procurement plans, deployment schedules, and program documentation to support training and fielding requirements.
• Coordinate training locations, student loads, facilities, equipment, technical manuals, and related logistical requirements impacting cost and schedule.
Documentation Review & Development
• Review acquisition, sustainment, logistics, and training documentation for training implications and provide recommendations for improvement and correction.
• Support development and updates to key program documentation including NETPs, MFPs, LCSPs, APs, BCAs, DMPs, and HSI Plans.
• Develop and maintain NET documentation in accordance with DoD, Department of the Army, and AMC guidance.
Training Support Package (TSP) Management
• Develop, review, and update Training Support Packages (TSPs) based on system requirements, acquisition documentation, and operational needs.
• Input and maintain assigned system training data within Army-approved databases and the Training Development Capability (TDC) system.
• Validate multimedia and technology-based training materials to ensure alignment with approved NET and TSP requirements.
• Incorporates technical manuals and updates related to software and hardware systems into the current training curriculum.
Qualifications
• Experience in or knowledge of Platform Instructor or Instructor/Standardization Operator (IO/SO) or possesses a degree in Education.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent military or industry experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience supporting DoD weapon systems, logistics, sustainment, or training programs.
• Demonstrated experience supporting New Equipment Training (NET) programs for military systems.
• Experience with lifecycle logistics, integrated product support (IPS), or materiel fielding activities.
• Familiarity with Army acquisition, sustainment, and training documentation processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Experience supporting UAS programs or aviation systems is highly desired.
• Ability to work effectively with Government customers, military personnel, and cross-functional contractor teams.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one preferred.
