Job Description

Duties

As an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, you will:
  • Serve as a technical expert and focal point for Information Technology (IT) security and information assurance policies, planning, programs, initiatives, certification and accreditation.
  • Evaluate and assesses vulnerabilities of classified network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, switches, attached cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators.
  • Review national, DOD and other policies, program proposals, operational and strategic plans, and identifies issues requiring tier two actions or inputs.
  • Analyze equipment and software reliability and suitability for vulnerability assessment utilization.
  • Determine, develop, and ensure cooperation and coordination with related IA/CND program efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience:
Must have the following general experience.
  • Data processing functions
  • Understand the stages required to automate a work process
  • Work as a computer operator, computer assistant, or program analyst
Specialized Experience:

Must have at least 36 months of the following Specialized Experience(s)
  • Analytical and evaluative duties related to business of Cyberspace Operations
  • Skill in the identification of problem areas
  • Knowledgeable of required corrective actions to meet program capabilities and mission objectives
  • Experiences involved the interpretation of policy and procedural matters
  • Skilled in advising, coaching, mentoring, and counseling employees
  • Ability to lead, plan, and schedule program work
  • Must have experiences in the intelligence programs, certifications, and security responsibilities
Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience -

For the GS-5 level, a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirements. At the GS-7 level, one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. At the GS-9 level, a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted. At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks

Additional information

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
