Job Description
AV has an opportunity for a Systems Administrator III supporting mission-critical satellite tracking and secure government systems at the Kaena Point Satellite Tracking Station . In this role, you will establish and maintain smooth operation of computer NIPR, SIPR, and Mission systems (including operating systems, software, and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations, maintain system integrity, and perform system and server upgrades as required. You will create and document new methods supporting network and system operations and implement changes to procedures. You will consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve problems, coordinate and perform operational and maintenance activities for networks and servers, identify recurring problems, and recommend steps to reduce the severity or frequency of issues. In this role, you will also support the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies, utilize system software to monitor system performance, manage system data to maintain operational efficiencies, and evaluate system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.

The salary range for this role is:
$74,500 - $105,525

Basic Qualifications
- Must possess an active DoD SECRET clearance, or higher.
- Must have one of the following DoD 8140.03 compliant certifications CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP or be able to obtain within 60 days of starting work.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology/system administration with 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to work and interface with associate contractors, military personnel, and the Government customer.
- Must have proficiency in managing and troubleshooting various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
- Must have strong understanding of network protocols, configuration, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Must have experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Must have knowledge of security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and data protection.
- Must have proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automating tasks.
- Must have experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and execution.
