Job Summary

Battelle is seeking an experienced Test Article & Logistics Lead to provide technical leadership and turnkey management of test article hardware and logistics in support of TSA's Acceptance Testing Support Services (ATSS) program. This is a hybrid opportunity located in Atlantic City, NJ.

The successful candidate will integrate test article hardware lifecycle management with full-suite logistics execution, ensuring test readiness, quality, accountability, and on-time delivery across all checkpoint testing activities. The candidate will lead all activities related to test article development, manufacturing, storage, maintenance, logistics, configuration, and retirement.

**Please note, this position is contingent upon Battelle receiving a contract award. Final hiring decisions will depend on organizational needs and candidate qualifications, with employment commencing only after the award is confirmed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage test article hardware activities across the complete lifecycle, including development, manufacturing, assembly, validation, quality control, refresh, and retirement.
  • Serve as the technical authority for test articles supporting complex, integrated security systems.
  • Define, evaluate, and communicate x-ray image quality standards and results in coordination with TSA and other Government stakeholders.
  • Ensure test articles meet applicable TSA, ANSI, ASTM, and image quality standards and do not bias system assessments.
  • Maintain configuration control of all test articles in accordance with TSA configuration management processes.
  • Maintain Inventory control and accountability, Storage facility oversight, and Maintenance assessment and repair/replacement of test articles.
  • Provide Logistics Execution and Delivery supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), Verification Testing (VT), and Integrated System Acceptance Testing (ISAT).
  • Ensure test kits and articles are deployed on time, in validated condition, and returned within required timeframes.
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, fulfillment, and warehouse operations across multiple test locations.
  • Serve as the primary Government point of contact for all test article and logistics activities.
  • Support required reporting, dashboards, and deliverables related to test article status, maintenance, inventory, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA security requirements, Sensitive Security Information (SSI) handling, safety, and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, logistical, and schedule risks impacting test operations.

Key Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering, logistics, or related technical discipline with ten (10) years of experience supporting complex integrated systems or technologies; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of test articles, including development, manufacturing, quality control, material testing, and validation.
  • Proven experience providing or leading test article logistics and inventory management in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working directly with U.S. Government customers or agencies.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work in warehouse or storage facilities and lift and move test equipment or test kits (up to ~40-50 lbs as needed).
  • Flexibility to support off-hours or extended test schedules during active test events.
  • Sole US Citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Logistics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) with a minimum five (5) years of experience supporting complex integrated systems or technologies.

Compensation Data

  • Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly range for this role is $35 - $49, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
