For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions.
SciTec is seeking a talented data analyst to support programs delivering Missile Defense Solution software. You will work within a fast-paced environment on a team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. This role focuses on performing analysis and studies on complex mission critical software in various phases of maturity, from prototype to operational systems. You will work with and develop analysis tools in Python, MATLAB, and other languages to support analysis. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a rapid pace environment consisting of scientists, engineers, and developers to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced front-end and back-end software solutions for integrating advanced exploitation algorithms into government frameworks. Our ideal candidate will be able to analyze and interpret the results of data processing algorithms to find patterns, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements to influence algorithm development and system deployment.

Responsibilities
- Interpreting raw and graphical algorithm performable data into actionable recommendations for software development teams
- Presenting analysis findings to team leads
- Creating formal analysis reports and participating in peer reviews
- Testing prototype, development, and sustainment software builds to support performance analysis for mission critical capabilities
- Developing analysis tools in Python ranging from data readers to interactive multivariate visualizations
- Designing new metrics to improve algorithm and system performance assessments
- Support documentation, knowledge sharing, and clear communication across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, physical science, mathematics, or engineering
- Experience with large dataset analysis
- Experience with remote sensing data analysis
- Experience with evaluating machine learning algorithms and/or statistical models
- Demonstrated ability to work on Linux operating systems
- Experience using Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis
- Capability to follow logic in other languages (C++, shell scripts)
- Ability to work in-person in Boulder, CO office location
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
- Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR data
- Experience using visualization and Python analysis packages
- Experience with virtual environments and docker containers
- Experience building modular data processing algorithms using Pandas and NumPy arrays
- Fluency with object-oriented software design principles
- Professional experience with Agile software development processes and tools
- A current DoD security clearance
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Scrum
