Job Title: Dynamics Technical Lead – Acoustics Mechanical Engineering
Location: Littleton, CO & Sunnyvale, CA
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: $104,500 – $208,000/year
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Loads & Dynamics Engineer to support advanced missile and spacecraft programs within a high-security aerospace environment. This role is responsible for structural dynamics analysis, vibration and acoustic testing, loads development, and technical leadership supporting mission-critical flight hardware systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with structural dynamics, finite element analysis, and aerospace testing environments, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment supporting national security space initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Perform structural dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft flight hardware
• Provide technical guidance supporting structural analysis and testing activities across missile programs
• Develop and maintain analytical models simulating mechanical loading conditions, deployment motions, and spacecraft separation events
• Perform loads development at both primary structure and component levels
• Determine shock and vibration environments and support system-level testing and data evaluation
• Prepare and execute static, separation dynamics, vibration, modal, acoustic, and shock test plans
• Perform post-test data reduction, analysis, and reporting activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams performing structural design trades and detailed analysis activities
• Support requirements development, test monitoring, and comparison of analytical models to test data
• Generate technical documentation and engineering data packages supporting customer and peer reviews
• Present analysis results and technical findings during design reviews and technical interchange meetings
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional technical development
• Support program planning, budgeting, schedule reviews, and requirements implementation activities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
• Experience in structural dynamics through education, research, or practical industry experience
• Practical experience with vibration, acoustic, or dynamic testing and analysis
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as NASTRAN, NX, or similar modeling software
• Working knowledge of structural analysis principles including hand calculations and lumped-parameter modeling
• Exposure to engineering analysis supporting various stages of product development
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
Additional Qualifications
• Master’s degree strongly preferred
• Experience supporting missile or spacecraft test programs
• Experience investigating structural or mechanical anomalies
• Experience evaluating designs using rigid body and flexible body analysis methods
• Experience analyzing mechanisms, antennas, electronic components, composites, and support equipment
• Experience using NX/Nastran, Abaqus, ADAMS, LS-Dyna, MATLAB, Mathcad, and/or CREO
• Experience performing static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing for aerospace hardware
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong communication and technical presentation skills
• Willingness and ability to mentor junior engineers
• Active Secret clearance preferred
• Experience in defense or aerospace industries preferred
