Job Title: Cable and Harness ElectroMechanical Engineer II
Location: Englewood, CO & Littleton, CO
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: $73,400 – $129,260/year
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to support advanced avionics and missile systems within a high-security aerospace environment. This role is responsible for the design, development, integration, and production support of cable and interconnect systems supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. The ideal candidate has strong experience with cable and harness design, electrical/mechanical integration, and cross-functional engineering collaboration, and thrives in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Develop cable and harness designs for spaceflight avionics and missile systems
• Support design, development, and production activities for avionics cable and interconnect systems
• Develop performance, stress, thermal, and test requirements for cable assemblies
• Identify and define physical architecture for avionics subsystems
• Conduct R&D trade studies supporting pre-SRR design phases
• Develop and maintain architecture and interface definitions throughout the program lifecycle
• Generate technical design disclosure artifacts including presentations and reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams supporting world-class avionics systems
• Participate in design reviews including SRR, PDR, and CDR activities
• Support Engineering Material Review Boards (EMRB), Failure Review Boards (FRB), and anomaly resolution activities
• Resolve test anomalies and support system-level integration and testing efforts
• Work autonomously while ensuring milestone achievement and technical deliverables
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience with wire harness and cable design for electrical/mechanical interconnect systems
• Experience with RF or electronic package interfaces
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes including connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, and testing
• Full working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with CAD design and modeling tools
• Experience translating requirements into cable and harness designs across multiple assembly levels
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
Additional Qualifications
• Working knowledge of EPDM tools or equivalent systems
• Exposure to DFx principles (Design for Manufacturability, Affordability, etc.)
• Experience with CREO CAD modeling and Zuken tools
• Missile or aerospace industry experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with FBM specifications and procedures
• Experience partnering with subcontractors, suppliers, and customer teams
• Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems and engineering databases
• Previous CPE or MRB experience
• Experience serving as a technical lead including scheduling and resource planning
• Experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis
• Exposure to requalification activities including MORAs and supplier relocations
• Hands-on hardware experience
• Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills
• Experience supporting formal design reviews and technical presentations
