Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior UI/UX Software Engineer to design and build modern, intuitive web applications supporting mission-critical systems. This role blends user experience design, frontend engineering, and information architecture to simplify complex workflows and deliver clean, efficient, and highly usable interfaces. The ideal candidate enjoys solving challenging problems, translating complexity into clarity, and building elegant user-centric solutions for high-stakes environments. Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing applications and identify usability and workflow improvements.
- Translate complex technical and mission requirements into wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and intuitive UI designs.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to drive design decisions.
- Develop responsive, modern web applications using React, Angular, or Vue.
- Write clean, maintainable frontend code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Design and maintain clear information architectures, navigation structures, and layouts for complex data sets.
- Build and manage reusable UI components and design systems using Figma.
- Ensure visual and interaction consistency across applications.
- Design and implement interfaces compliant with Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to user stories, documentation, and sprint delivery.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- 13+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong background in UI/UX design principles, usability, and user-centered design methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience using Figma for component creation and prototyping.
- Experience integrating frontend solutions with REST APIs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience with Adobe XD.
- Familiarity with Node.js, Java, or AWS environments.
- Experience working with real-time data using WebSockets.
- Strong background in user research, usability testing, or human-centered design practices.
Compensation:
- Pay range: $170,000 - $190,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
