- You will develop, update, and implement a protocol program that effectively supports the NCIS mission.

- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- Ensuring the highest degree of official recognition is afforded each visitor and that presentations and tours are commensurate with the security clearance and status of the visitor;
- Managing overall Command protocol program to encompass program development, planning and evaluation;
- Overseeing the formulation of high level and highly complex itineraries, requiring tedious coordination, planning and development; and
- Coordinating with commercial vendors and/or installation club managers in arranging and coordinating all aspects of social functions.
- Ensuring escorts, photographers, interpreters, and staffing agencies are properly briefed before an event;
- Conducting continuous analysis and evaluation of protocol plans and programs from both technical and operational points of view; and
- Preparing the annual budget for protocol events based upon past experience and anticipated workload.
