- Perform duties associated with the receipt, turn-in and issue/shipment of a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments manually, by handcarts, and other non-mechanized conveyances, or by operation with a forklift.
- Receive both posted and un-posted items to include safeguarding Cold-Chain Management and Temperature Sensitive Medical Products (TSMP), Class I and Class II controlled substances, hazardous chemicals and compressed gases.
- Operate electric, gasoline and/or diesel-powered vehicles with gross vehicle weights not to exceed Class 6 (GVW 19,501 to 26,000 pounds).
- Operate a 2K forklift truck capable of lifting loads up to 4,000 pounds and as high as 30'.
- Serve as the organization's alternate Mail Assistant performing various duties which include the accountability, safeguarding, and maintaining of registers for incoming and outgoing certified, insured, and registered mail.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Within 6 months of employment and annually thereafter, obtain and maintain certification for Cold Chain Management, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
- Within 6 months of employment, must obtain and maintain a license to operate forklifts up to 4,000 lbs. at the incumbent's expense.
- Must be able, and willing, to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, hearing protection, aprons, gloves, respirator and/or helmet, etc.
- Position requires employee to work occasional overtime. Incumbent will either be called in during off-duty hours or be required to remain on duty for an extended period.
