The Boeing Integrated Fires Protection Capability 2nd Interceptor (IFPC-2) program is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Responsible Engineer (RE) for the Interceptor Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Huntsville, Alabama. As the RE for the Interceptor IPT, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the successful design and test of the IFPC-2 Interceptor to meet the performance, reliability, and safety requirements of the system. The RE will be responsible for development and adherence of the Interceptor requirements and the interfaces across the Interceptor subsystems.

The IFPC-2 program is a mass fire ground launched air-defense missile system designed to counter intermediate threats from cruise missiles and advanced aircraft. Boeing's design combines highly mature components with new and novel designs to produce an innovative solution capable of meeting all our customers' requirements. Boeing is in competition to develop the new capability as the prime for design, manufacturing, and integration. The IFPC-2 Interceptor team is a cross functional, highly skilled, and motivated group that is focused on providing an innovative solution and demonstration of our design.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Establishes a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution, providing alternative paths for issue resolution and an open dialogue on technical issues
  • Lead requirement, function, and interface development for the IFPC-2 Interceptor Subsystem
  • Oversee the design of products provided in support of development efforts to ensure they meet both contractual requirements AND program objectives/guiding principles
  • Present data for the product at Design Reviews, product Acceptance and Qualification Reviews, and Delivery Reviews as required
  • Guide technical path for product definition and execution
  • Drive IPT to a position of System Integration for IFPC-2 - drive coordination between other IPTs and Program technical staff
  • Accountable to IPT Lead, Program & IAMD Chief Engineers, and Program Management Office
  • Technical authority over the development, design, production, and test of the assigned IFPC-2 Interceptor Subsystem


This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Proven experience (5+ years) leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team in development or production environments
  • Experience with executing engineering in support of program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc)
  • Engineering experience in development and production programs
  • Experience presenting various levels of technical data to customers
  • Fundamental knowledge of interceptor missile systems and components including radar systems, seeker CONOPs, propulsion systems, and/or missile architectures


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Familiarity with technical proposal development
  • Familiarity with HWIL and Flight Test design, equipment, and validation
  • Familiarity with interceptor models & simulations

Summary pay range: $164,900 - $223,100
