Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Audiovisual Service Technician to support mission-critical audiovisual systems in a high-security environment in Herndon, VA. This role provides hands-on AV troubleshooting, maintenance, and event support for senior leaders and operational teams. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, and comfortable working in high-pressure environments requiring discretion and professionalism. Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required.

Work Environment:
On-site role in Herndon, VA supporting classified audiovisual systems and executive-level environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of audiovisual systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Support meetings and events, including system setup, in-meeting assistance, and post-event teardown or support.
- Perform daily AV system checks and preventative maintenance activities.
- Provide in-person and remote technical support to end users.
- Maintain and update system documentation, troubleshooting guides, and tickets using tools such as Jira or Confluence.
- Provide user training on audiovisual systems and room technologies.
- Escalate complex issues to engineering staff and collaborate on resolution.
- Maintain current training certifications from manufacturers and industry organizations.
- Attend daily engineering and operations meetings to coordinate support activities.
- Ensure adherence to change management processes for AV system updates and modifications.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while supporting senior officials in time-sensitive or high-visibility environments.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ year of related audiovisual or technical support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting AV systems from vendors such as Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Crestron, Extron, and Thinklogical.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed, sometimes using a company vehicle.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods (6-8 hours per day).
- Ability to climb ladders up to 15 feet and navigate stairs regularly.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in equipment rooms, conference spaces, and secure facilities.
Clearance Requirement:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
Preferred:
- AVIXA CTS certification.
- Manufacturer certifications or advanced experience with Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Crestron, Extron, or Thinklogical.
- Education or background in electronics or a related technical field.
Compensation:
- Pay range: $120,000 - $160,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
