Junior Cybersecurity Engineer
LOCATION : Hanscom AFB, MA
Salary Range : $125-$135,000 annually*
*depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications

CLEARANCE : Top Secret
TRAVEL: Limited, as needed to OCONUS and CONUS locations, including the Middle East, Currently the Nation of Qatar
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Electronic Systems (AFLCMC/ES). The Air Force Program Execution Office for Electronic Systems (AFPEO/ES) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Electronic Systems is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, in Bedford Massachusetts with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
- Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Clearance
Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and up to 3 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, OR, 5 years of directly related experience
RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Support cybersecurity and system security engineering activities across program lifecycles in accordance with DoD policies (RMF, DoDI 8510.01, AAF)
- Develop and maintain security documentation (SSMPs, PPPs, OPSEC plans, risk analyses, and accreditation artifacts)
- Support Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) efforts, ensuring compliance with RMF requirements
- Conduct risk, vulnerability, and security assessments; recommend mitigation strategies and security controls
- Manage system access, PKI, configurations, and security updates to ensure compliance and system integrity
- Provide guidance on secure system design, implementation, and continuous monitoring
- Support audits, inspections, and accountability of classified materials and security processes
- Maintain security databases, clearance records, and classified information tracking
- Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain system approvals and ensure security compliance across programs
- Support security training, awareness initiatives, and policy development
