Senior Leader Cyber SME
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Clearance: Active TS/SCI
We are seeking a Senior Leader Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support command‑level cyber, technology, and operational planning initiatives. This role operates at the highest strategic levels, advising senior leadership while shaping cyber operations, future concepts, and joint planning efforts across the enterprise.
This position is ideal for candidates with Combatant Command experience, strong joint planning credentials, and the ability to operate independently as a trusted advisor.
What You’ll Do
Provide expert strategic, cyber, and military operations guidance across the command.
Advise senior leadership on current and future cyberspace operations at the physical, logical, and persona layers.
Support Crisis Action Planning (CAP) and Operational Planning using the Joint Planning Process.
Draft and advise on cyberspace orders and directives involving complex policy, authority, and doctrinal challenges.
Monitor national, joint, and component operations to identify opportunities for exercising authorities.
Develop CONOPS, white papers, technical papers, system views, and operational architectures.
Integrate cross‑functional concepts aligned with commander priorities and high‑interest plans.
Participate in cyber panels, working groups, and senior‑level engagements as a principal SME.
Coordinate across staff elements, Service Cyber Components, Combatant Commands, and partner agencies.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance.
IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, CND, GSEC, SSCP, or GICSP).
Bachelor’s degree with 17+ years of relevant experience
(or Master’s degree with 15+ years; additional experience may substitute for degree).
Demonstrated experience with the Joint Planning Process.
JPME I or II completion.
Experience on a Joint Planning Group (JPG) or Operational Planning Team (OPT).
Prior Combatant Command J5 or J35 experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including work with large datasets.
Nice to Have
Senior‑level cyber or operational leadership background.
Experience integrating cyber capabilities across large enterprise environments.
Familiarity with commercial and government cybersecurity technologies supporting layered defense.
Experience briefing or advising General Officer / SES‑level leadership.
