Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Certification Trainer
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Clearance: Active DoD Secret (TS/SCI eligible)
We are seeking a highly experienced CSSP Certification Trainer to support cyber Watch Officers, Battle Captains, and mission‑critical personnel within a secure command center environment. This role focuses on delivering, managing, and evolving CSSP certification training aligned with DoD cyber operations and workforce readiness standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a former Watch Officer, Battle Captain, or Senior Incident Responder who has transitioned into technical training and enjoys shaping cyber readiness at scale.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support CSSP certification training from development through operational execution.
Train and mentor Battle Captains and Watch personnel in a SCIF environment.
Deliver instructor‑led and blended cyber/network operations training.
Develop and maintain training materials, labs, certification tracking, and readiness metrics.
Support enterprise‑wide workforce improvement programs and certification reporting.
Plan and execute cyber training exercises, scenarios, and evaluations.
Analyze training effectiveness and integrate lessons learned into curriculum updates.
Collaborate with government and industry partners to align training with CSSP standards.
Present training status, metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Participate in cyber working groups, panels, and training communities of interest.
Required Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance (must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI).
IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of experience in cyber operations, cyber training, or DoD/DISA support.
Experience delivering technical training or supporting curriculum development.
Strong understanding of cyber/network operations and workforce readiness frameworks.
Ability to work independently in high‑visibility, mission‑critical environments.
Nice to Have
Former Watch Officer, Battle Captain, or Senior Incident Responder.
Experience supporting DISA, DoD Cyber, or CSSP environments.
Familiarity with DoD 8140 / CSSP work roles.
Experience building hands‑on labs or “train‑the‑trainer” programs.
Knowledge of adversary TTPs and integrating them into training scenarios.
Experience briefing O‑6 / SES‑level leadership.
Familiarity with training platforms (LMS, virtual labs, DoD training systems).
