Key Responsibilities
- Perform accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis functions in support of programs or projects
- Assist in the formulation, justification, and execution of budgets
- Support cost estimating, financial forecasting, and reporting activities
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations
- Apply knowledge of financial management principles, methods, and techniques
- Prepare financial reports, documentation, and supporting materials
- Conduct more complex financial analyses and budget reviews
- Provide recommendations to support financial planning and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies
- Support audits, reviews, and financial evaluations
- Lead financial analysis efforts for programs or projects
- Provide guidance on budgeting, cost estimating, and financial management strategies
- Review and validate financial data, reports, and forecasts
- Serve as a key resource for resolving complex financial issues
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Substitutions
- 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement
- 1 academic year of technical school or accredited college coursework in a finance-related program may substitute for 1 year of experience
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and financial management principles
- Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and financial policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in financial systems and standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets)
