Job Description

Duties

  • You will manage functions and activities applicable to the Government Travel process, including, Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) and Defense Travel System (DTS), in addition Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Directives.
  • You will develop performance measures and monitor procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness for assigned programs.
  • You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
  • You will provide technical oversight of work; develop performance plans and rate employees.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Guiding peers, resolving conflicts, and influencing team success; 2) Interacting effectively with personnel at all levels to communicate complex information and resolve escalated issues while providing excellent customer service; 3) Using office software proficiently,(specifically Microsoft Excel) and navigating web-based online platforms (e.g., DTS, data portals, Citibank) to track and manage operations; 4) Analyzing data and travel requests in accordance with established policy (e.g., JTR, FMR, GTCC regulations) to provide compliant solutions, while prioritizing tasks and shifting priorities with strict attention to detail.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
