Description: We are seeking a Systems Administrator with strong Linux fundamentals who brings a modern, automation-first mindset to support a Government client. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting production systems while leveraging containerization and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role for someone who can both keep systems running and continuously improve how they are managed through automation and tooling.

Description: We are seeking a Systems Administrator with strong Linux fundamentals who brings a modern, automation-first mindset to support a Government client. Systems Administrator Job Duties:
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in production environments.
- Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman.
- Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker Compose (deployment, troubleshooting, and operations).
- Automate system configuration and provisioning using Ansible.
- Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine operational tasks.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents across infrastructure and application layers.
- Maintain system security, including patching, access controls, and certificate management.
- Provide support for Java applications using the Spring framework running on Tomcat with Nginx.
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working in heavily regulated environments. 3 - 7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator. Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar). Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker or Podman. Experience with automation tools such as Ansible. Proficiency in scripting (Bash and/or Python). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience with SELinux, system hardening, and security best practices.
- Experience managing internal certificate authorities and trust chains.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
- Experience supporting both operations (O&M) and development (modernization) efforts.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including experience with Docker networking.
