Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Enterprise Architect to support a company focused on delivering secure, mission-critical network solutions for the Department of the Air Force. This position is hybrid at Reston, VA. The Enterprise Architect will serve as a senior technical lead responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering secure WAN and transport solutions across classified and unclassified environments. This role directly enables resilient, global command-and-control capabilities critical to national defense missions.

Responsibilities for the Enterprise Architect include:
- Leading WAN and transport architecture and design efforts, providing secure, scalable connectivity solutions across classified and unclassified enclaves
- Developing implementation-ready engineering packages, including HLD/LLD, logical and physical diagrams, IP plans, BOMs, configuration templates, and cutover/rollback procedures
- Providing technical recommendations on Optical Transport Networks (OTN), MPLS/IP, SD-WAN, VPN/IPsec, Ethernet, and modern secure access patterns (SASE/SSE)
- Supporting RMF/ATO activities by producing network engineering evidence, DISA STIG documentation, boundary descriptions, and as-built configurations
- Acting as a senior technical liaison across government, integrators, OEMs, and service providers while providing Tier 3/4 troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Required Qualifications for the Enterprise Architect include:
- 15+ years of experience in WAN/transport engineering, network architecture, or telecommunications
- Deep expertise in OTN and ITU-T standards (G.709, G.798, G.872), MPLS/IP, Ethernet, VPN/IPsec, SD-WAN, advanced routing (BGP, OSPF/ISIS), QoS, and capacity planning
- Strong engineering and documentation skills with demonstrated experience creating deployable, field-ready implementation packages and supporting design reviews
- Bachelor's degree
- IAT Level I, II, or III certification
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or SCI-eligible)
Compensation for the Enterprise Architect include:
- Salary Range: $175,000-$200,000 **depending on experience**
